We've Just Begun To Live
I had some important doctor's appointments last week and they went well! I am so happy and feel like the hard work I've been putting in since the beginning of the year has paid off. I've managed to still keep my New Year's Resolution of exercising during my lunch break at work and have gotten up to walking/jogging 4 miles. I'm still lagging on my free weight exercises but at least I've been pretty consistent with morning yoga. I don't consider myself a very flexible person but I can tell that yoga has definitely improved my overall flexibility.
The title of this blog is the title of a song I wrote and perform with my band. I wrote it before I turned thirty last year and it's about embracing each new year of life like it's the beginning of another chapter. I don't have the final version recorded but I do have the lyrics. To all of you who may dread birthdays, each year of life is a blessing. You may get that career break at thirty-nine or win the lottery at fifty. Maybe you're twenty-nine years old and decide to start your own business. Maybe you get married, travel the world or have children. All of the events that happen each year to us are the beginning of something amazing. Carpe Annum!
This was taken during dinner the night after my doc's appointments. That's my great friend Stacey aka Barico. She is an awesome singer and a sweetie pie! We were also joined by her cute daughter and my lovely mom.

We've Just Begun To Live
I am finding out that no matter how old I get
I am always in this skin I was given
I'm discovering that no matter how much I think I lose
I am always breaking even
You don't have to like what I say
You don't have to listen to me
Just go with your intuition
Look at those years ahead as a gift
Wrap them around your body
Make a new rendition of you
I will stand and I will fight
The boredom locked into this night
And I will grit and I will bear
The burden of an age beware
Of people who always think
That getting older means that it's over
How can life be over?
When it's just begun
We've just begun to live
We've just begun to live
The constant worrying doesn't slow anything down
'Cause time stops for no one
There's no use thinking about what is was or what it is
What I become, I'll become
I will stand and I will fight
The boredom locked into this night
And I will grit and I will bear
The burden of an age beware
Of people who always believe
That getting older means that it's over
How can life be over?
When it's just begun
We've just begun to live
We've just begun to live

Hi Shaharoh! I absolutely love these song lyrics! (I’d like to suggest that you put a copyright at the end of all the lyrics you post on your blog, like ©2012yourname. This protects you from the less than honest souls roaming cyberspace.) I would buy your music!
ReplyDeleteThank u! Awesome advice and I appreciate your support! I am planning on releasing some music in June and will keep everyone posted. Have a blessed day!
DeleteIt's so awesome to see the fruits of your hard work. I think a lot of people give up on working out because the results just don't come fast enough. And I'm always behind anyone doing yoga! :D
ReplyDeleteYou are sooo right! Years ago when I tried to stick with something, I wouldn't get the results I wanted right away and quit. Finally, this yet I decided to do just enough Sonia would stick with it. Then I would add onto it slowly. It's a process and yoga helps me a lot with accepting my current state but also working towards something greater. Nameste:)
DeleteNamaste*
DeleteI already told you my opinion about your artistic abilities and I'll say no more, for I am afraid you'll ban me considering me an impulsive fan :))).
